GARY HEIGL | CHIEF EXECUTIVE OFFICER
Mr. Heigl works with our partners to design and implement customized investment strategies which achieve their portfolio risk and return objectives. With over 30 years of experience in commercial real estate investment and management on both a national and international basis, Mr. Heigl offers prospective partners his personal experience, judgment, and track record of success. Prior to forming WH&H, he was Chief Executive Officer and co-founder of Trinity Investments. That firm successfully led four investment strategies with Wafra affiliates: three targeting Japan, and one targeting North America. In this context, Mr. Heigl led the creation of United Urban Investment Corporation, the tenth REIT established in Japan. Prior to co-founding Trinity, Mr. Heigl served as Senior Vice President of Capital Markets, continuing his career as Chief Operating Officer of First Industrial Realty Trust, directing the management of the company's portfolio and regional operations. While at First Industrial, Mr. Heigl developed and implemented the firm’s recapitalization, triggering its growth from $750 million of assets to over $3 billion. Mr. Heigl has held executive positions with ITT Real Estate Finance, VMS Realty Partners and Aid Association for Lutherans, in addition to operating his own advisory firm. Mr. Heigl holds degrees in Finance and Real Estate from the University of Wisconsin-Madison and an MBA from the University of Wisconsin-Oshkosh. He is a member of the Urban Land Institute.
PETER HEIGL | SENIOR VICE PRESIDENT
Mr. Heigl's primary focus is sourcing acquisitions, underwriting, due diligence management and arranging financing on targeted investments. Prior to co-founding WH&H, Mr. Heigl was Assistant Vice President for NorthMarq Capital, where he was directly involved in the underwriting, placement and closing of $500 million of debt and equity financing on commercial properties. His expertise includes structuring first mortgages, mezzanine debt, construction loans and equity joint venture partnerships for office, industrial, retail, multi-family and hotel assets. Peter joined NorthMarq through their acquisition of Baird & Warner Real Estate Capital. Prior to entering the mortgage banking industry, Mr. Heigl was an Analyst with May Center Advisors, where he assisted in closing $250 million of retail property sales across the Midwest. His responsibilities included all facets of underwriting, financial analysis and modeling, market research and due diligence management. Peter holds a degrees in Finance and Economics from Marquette University and an MBA from DePaul University. He is a member of the Urban Land Institute and National Association of Industrial and Office Properties.
